Dr. Bruno Piedboeuf

Bruno Piedboeuf, MD, completed his medical degree, pediatric residency, and neonatology fellowship at the University of Montreal. He then pursued three additional years of training in Molecular Biology at the University of Rochester. In 1993, he joined the Department of Pediatrics at Université Laval and the CHU de Québec as a clinician-researcher. He practiced neonatology until early 2025 and remains actively involved in research.

From 2003 to 2012, Dr. Piedboeuf served as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Université Laval and Chief of Pediatrics at the CHU de Québec. He later held the position of Executive Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Université Laval from 2012 to 2017. Since 2009, he has chaired the provincial Table sectorielle mère-enfant, advising the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) on maternal and child healthcare organization.

In 2018, he was appointed Director of Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health at the CHU de Québec–Université Laval Research Centre, as well as Director of University Affairs for the MSSS. He is an active member of several provincial and national committees. Since 2022, Dr. Piedboeuf has chaired the Board of Directors of the Canadian Neonatal.
