Dr. Amuchou Soraisham, MD, DNB, DM, MSc, FRCPC, FAAP, FNNF

Dr. Amuchou Soraisham is Professor of Pediatrics at Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Canada and staff neonatologist with Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone. He completed his medical school and pediatric residency from JIPMER, Pondicherry, India.  He completed Postdoctoral (DM) training in Neonatology from PGI, Chandigarh, India, and subsequently completed fellowship training in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine and targeted neonatal echocardiography training at the University of Calgary, Canada. He obtained Master of Science (MSc) in clinical epidemiology training from the University of Calgary. He was the Medical Director of Foothills NICU for 6 years. Currently, he is the Research Director for the Calgary Zone Newborn Critical Care and chair of the Calgary Targeted Neonatal Echocardiography (TNE) program.

Dr Soraisham is also co-chair of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program of the Canadian Pediatric Society.  He is a founding member of the Calgary SCAN team and traveled around the world teaching point-of-care ultrasound in neonates

His main research interests include neonatal health outcomes, neonatal hemodynamic studies, neurodevelopmental outcomes, family-integrated care, and perinatal epidemiology.
